This is an important health issue and the vote is coming up this week. You will be getting ballots in the mail soon. I’m asking that you spend the time to read and study this issue. The pro fluoridation group is hoping you will not take time to inform yourself on this issue. They are hoping you will only take ten seconds to look at their expensive full color mailing with pictures of smiling children with bright white teeth.

In a matter of days Portland citizens will receive ballots in the mail for measure 26-151, adding fluoridation chemicals to our clean water supply.

Clean Water Portland now more then ever needs YOUR support. Please take a moment to go on line at www.CleanWaterPortland.org and pledge your NO vote. In addition, and very importantly, Clean Water Portland(CWP) needs your financial support. $30 goes a long way for the campaign and if you have more, well no one will say no. You may have heard CWP has been out funded 5:1, and the final weeks will see a lot of ads from HKHP, the pro-fluoride folks. We need to counter this blitz. Please donate to the cause of keeping our water clean!

Clean Water Portland is also hitting the streets. Saturday Walk and Talks and going door to door have been a great way to educate citizens regarding the upcoming vote. Please do join the forces on the ground by coming by the campaign office to volunteer your time, energy, and passion. We need you NOW, as time is of essence. As a physical therapist and a mother, Kellie’s passion is sharing information openly so that citizens may be informed voters. Water fluoridation is a complex topic that does not fit into sound bites. Kellie believes that citizens should have the ability to discern for themselves what is best for their family and community.

Kellie has spoken throughout the city on this important issue, to schools, neighborhoods, with policy makers, and on radio and television. Her presentation encourages questions, open discussion, and an invitation to each of us to be engaged citizens and informed voters.
