Martha Blessington holds a Masters Degree in Acupuncture from The National University of Natural Medicine and was elected to complete a one-year residency there in Chinese medicine. She has completed an additional residency program at Five Element Healthcare deepening her skills in Five Element Acupuncture. She is certified in Acupuncture with National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Her history as a competitive athlete, yoga practitioner and mother of three compelled an interest in Eastern philosophy and medicine. After playing “Dr. Mom” for 2+ decades she became acutely aware of western medicine’s
strengths and weaknesses She became thoroughly convinced of the healing power of treating the root condition of an ailment rather than fixating on the symptom relief. As someone who is sensitive to medications, supplements, and herbal formulas herself, she has developed an interest in helping the body heal with as little intervention as possible. To that end, she practices Five Element style acupuncture which is a more systemic approach to healing the body. She feels it is highly effective with symptom relief, while focusing on overall balance and whole body health.
